Example for Fate would be "Fate stay night -Fate-.exe Edit each folder name so that there are no '/' marks, same thing for each game. The game will be split into three parts, based on paths of the game. Obtain Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua (you'll know which version based on this.
Here is a quick instructional on how to install all this stuff. May this ease the wait for the Fate/hollow ataraxia translation release (and the wait for the new anime, too)! There is also a new support thread dedicated to the vanilla translation-only version - reports of typos and such should probably go there.
If you're experiencing technical issues with the patch either post in the Beast's Lair patch thread or PM me (I might be able to help). I'm not affiliated with the awesome people who created the patches. The patch allows playing without Japanese locale enabled, but only if the path to the game exe and the exe itself contain no special characters (usual suspects include the slash after "Fate", the special "e" in "Réalta" and the hyphen-like signs that surround route titles). Some related notes: the 2012 PC downloadable edition of F/sn allows you to play the routes in any order (as they are 3 separate applications), but the strongly recommended route order is: Fate -> Unlimited Blade Works -> Heaven's Feel. That version should be suitable for ages ~15+ (the other can be as well, but only in specific configurations - this one is more of a no-brainer). Here is the "pure translation" version of the patch. The announcement video for the patch can be found here (warning: spoilers). Here is the feature-complete version of the patch (warning: spoilers abound later in that thread). Many of the above features are only available in the former version.
One is a more curated experience, a fusion of the original F/sn and the Réalta Nua edition, while the other is a pure translation of the PC Réalta Nua edition. Two versions of the patch have been released. (optional as part of the Vita OST patch) remixed F/sn tracks from the PSVita version, individually togglable via an in-game config.
(optional as part of the Vita OP patch) HD versions of PSVita openings (animated by Ufotable) and PS2 openings added into the various playthroughs (with original openings available in the Movie gallery) - 8 different openings altogether (optional as part of the H-patch) original, more shocking and violent CGs (optional as part of the H-patch) Heaven's Feel spoiler: (optional as part of the H-patch) retouched H-scenes with compatible effects, music, and voices from the H-alts incorporated into them (optional as part of the H-patch) original pornographic scenes added back in (switchable on and off via an in-game config along with associated dialogues) as well as H-scene decensoring (also togglable) Retranslated and retimed additional "Last Episode" ending Īll new Fate/hollow ataraxia-style visual effects New Réalta Nua-exclusive scenes translated for the first time So called "H-alt" scenes - they replace the original F/sn pornographic scenes along with associated dialogues Original Mirror Moon translation ported into the newer version of the game (with some corrections) The features of this new, patched release include: The patch is now considered complete (though some bugfixing may still be going on) and it does much more than just insert the old translation: it's probably the best way there'll ever be to read F/sn. Some good folks over at Beast's Lair have been working for some time on inserting the Mirror Moon translation of Fate/stay night into the newer 3-part downloadable edition published in 2011-2012. I guess I'll post it as a comment here instead:
I was going to post some info about the patch on this subreddit once a new update came out, since the current version has some problems ( likely to be fixed very soon new version now out).
